Security

Cloudflare (for example __cf_bm) is set by Cloudflare, which protects the site from automated attacks. It is short-lived, usually about 30 minutes.

Analytics

Google Analytics (_ga, and _ga_ followed by an ID) is set by Google Analytics to count visits and to tell new visitors from returning ones. These cookies can last up to two years. Google explains how it uses cookies.

Affiliate attribution

When you follow an Amazon affiliate link, Amazon may set cookies on its own domain to attribute a qualifying purchase. We do not set affiliate cookies on our own domain.

Browser storage (not cookies)

Your saved recipes, your metric or US measurement preference, ingredients you have ticked off, the ratings you have given, and everything you enter into our interactive tools are kept in your browser’s local storage on your own device. None of it is sent to us. See Data Privacy for Tools.

Managing cookies

You can view, block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and clear this site’s local storage in the same place. Blocking cookies does not stop you reading any recipe or article. To opt out of Google Analytics on every website, you can install Google’s opt-out add-on.

If the cookies we use change, we will update this page and the date at the top.
